The developer’s brief asked for a facade that could shift from a calm ambient wash on an ordinary Tuesday to a coordinated colour moment for a civic occasion, without ever looking like the building was trying to sell something. We specced a low-resolution linear LED system mounted behind the tower’s existing vertical mullions, invisible in daylight, and built a content system around slow gradients and directional sweeps rather than anything that reads as a message or a logo.
The building’s own facilities team now runs the day-to-day ambient programme from a scheduling interface we built for them; our studio is only called in for the handful of civic moments each year that need custom choreography.
